Adani Total Gas and Flipkart Partner to Reduce Carbon Footprint in Logistics

Adani Total Gas Ltd (ATGL) and Flipkart, a leading Indian e-commerce marketplace, have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at reducing Flipkart’s carbon footprint in the transportation of goods. This partnership aligns with India’s commitment to climate action goals, focusing on reducing carbon intensity and achieving a net-zero target.

Adani Decarbonization Journey Through Cleaner Fuel and EVs

ATGL, a prominent energy and city gas distribution company co-promoted by the Adani Group and TotalEnergies, will play a key role in Flipkart’s decarbonization journey. The focus will be on transitioning to cleaner fuel options, such as natural gas, and adopting electric vehicles (EVs). Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Ltd (ATEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of ATGL, will contribute by deploying EV charging infrastructure at various locations within Flipkart’s pan-India supply chain, including warehouses and logistics facilities.

This collaboration addresses the carbon emissions associated with the primary, secondary, and tertiary movements of goods—encompassing sourcing locations, warehouses, and customer deliveries. With more than eight million shipments per day in the e-commerce logistics segment in India, the partnership aims to provide sustainable solutions and reduce the environmental impact of the growing volume of shipments.
