‘Animal’ producer upset; While Triptii Dimri is all over the media, Rashmika Mandanna not getting her due

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s latest directorial venture, ‘Animal,’ has become the cinematic sensation of the year since its release on December 1. While it has soared at the box office, securing its position as the biggest hit of the year, the film hasn’t escaped criticism. However, the audience remains captivated by the stellar performances of the entire cast, with every actor, regardless of the role length, leaving an indelible mark.

In a recent revelation, Sandeep Reddy Vanga disclosed that before ‘Animal,’ he had envisioned casting Parineeti Chopra as Preeti in ‘Kabir Singh.’ The director expressed his longstanding desire to collaborate with Parineeti. However, fate led him to the present ensemble cast, and ‘Animal’ took shape with Ranbir Kapoor in a central role.

Animal’s Producer’s view

Despite Ranbir Kapoor stealing the limelight, viewers can’t stop raving about Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri’s performances. However, the producer of ‘Animal,’ Sandeep’s brother, Pranay Reddy Vanga, believes that Rashmika Mandanna did not receive the acknowledgment she deserved for her role as Geetanjali, Ranbir’s wife, in the film.

Addressing the issue during an interaction with iDream Media, Pranay discussed the criticisms some feminists had with Geetanjali’s character, emphasizing its powerful nature. He acknowledged that Rashmika did an excellent job, standing out alongside Ranbir Kapoor’s performance. Despite the disparity in screen time, Pranay asserted that Rashmika’s role was remarkable and deserving of recognition, positioning her as one of the top three actors in the film.

Pranay expressed his surprise that Rashmika’s contribution to ‘Animal’ seemed overshadowed, particularly when Triptii Dimri gained significant fame from the movie. He suggested that perhaps PR agencies played a role in elevating Triptii’s visibility, while Rashmika’s performance received less media coverage in Mumbai. Pranay acknowledged Triptii’s commendable job in the film and the attention her role garnered but emphasized that Rashmika’s portrayal was, according to him, the best after Ranbir Kapoor.

Triptii, who has been dubbed the “National crush” post-‘Animal,’ has indeed risen to fame overnight. It’s noteworthy that this title was previously associated with Rashmika Mandanna. The dynamics of recognition and popularity in the film industry often spark discussions about the roles that gain prominence and how media coverage shapes perceptions.
