Samsung is set to launch its next-generation Galaxy S24 series at the Unpacked 2024 event, which will take place on January 17. The event will focus on the new Galaxy AI, which is expected to be integrated into the new Galaxy S series. The Galaxy S24 series will come in three models: the standard Galaxy S24, the larger Galaxy S24+, and the top-tier Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Unveiling the Future: Samsung Galaxy S24 Series
The Galaxy S24 series is expected to have a number of new features, including AI-powered wallpapers, real-time phone call translation, a photo enhancement tool similar to Magic Editor, and AI-powered zoom functionality. Additionally, the keyboard is expected to have five different tones of voice and note-taking abilities with AI.
The upcoming Galaxy S24 series is expected to come equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in some markets, while other markets might get Samsung’s own Exynos 2400 chipset. The display of all three models is expected to have a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, making the visual experience better.
Samsung is also said to offer a variety of colour options to choose from, including Onyx Black, Cobalt Violet, Marble Gray, and Amber Yellow. The basic S24 model is expected to have a 6.2-inch AMOLED 2x FHD display, a 50-megapixel main camera that can record 8K videos, and up to 30x Space Zoom. It will have 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB, with a 4,000mAh battery that supports fast charging.

The S24+ model is expected to have a similar camera system as the S24, but with a bigger 6.7-inch AMOLED 2x QHD+ display, a 4,900mAh battery, 12GB of RAM, and storage options of 256GB or 512GB. The premium Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to ditch the regular aluminium body for a titanium body, similar to how Apple introduced a Titanium build for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It will have a powerful camera system, including a 200MP main lens, a 10x quad telephoto, and 100x Space Zoom. Additionally, the Ultra model will include the S Pen, a 6.8-inch AMOLED 2x QHD+ display, and a 5,000mAh battery.
In terms of software updates, a recent report states that Samsung might give the Galaxy S24 series 7 years of software and OS updates, which means that the top smartphones could receive updates until Android version 21. This is an increase from the four years of major OS upgrades and five years of security updates that Samsung has been offering for its high-end and some mid-range smartphones since 2020.
