Modi Declares World Eager for Ram Temple Consecration

In a momentous visit to Ayodhya on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only declared the world’s anticipation for the upcoming Ram Temple consecration ceremony on January 22nd but also unveiled a grand vision for the holy city’s development. His words resonated with the charged atmosphere, a potent mix of spiritual fervor and the promise of a transformed future.

Addressing a public gathering near the newly inaugurated Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Modi emphasized the global significance of the occasion. “The world is waiting for 22nd January,” he proclaimed, his voice echoing with the collective anticipation of millions. “I, too, am eagerly waiting the day of Pran Pratishtha at the Ram Mandir (Ram Temple).”

But his words carried a deeper message. Ayodhya, he asserted, was not just a holy city; it was a catalyst for national progress. “Viksit Bharat (Developed India) campaign is getting new energy from the holy city,” he declared, highlighting the symbolic connection between the Ram Temple and the nation’s aspirations. “Our heritage inspires us. Shows us the right path,” he continued, drawing a parallel between the ancient legacy of Ayodhya and the modern quest for a prosperous India.

Evoking the image of Lord Ram residing in a tent during his Ayodhya stay, Modi linked the past struggles with the present achievements. “Today, not only has Ram Lalla found a permanent abode but also four crore citizens of the country have been provided with homes,” he stated, reminding the audience of the government’s social welfare initiatives.

However, amidst the celebratory mood, the Prime Minister acknowledged the security concerns surrounding the grand event for Ram Temple. He urged people to refrain from visiting Ayodhya before the ceremony, prioritizing smooth execution and crowd management. “We waited for more than 500 years, wait for some more time,” he appealed, emphasizing the importance of patience and responsibility.

But his call for restraint extended beyond the immediate event. He urged people to launch a cleanliness drive across temples and pilgrimage sites nationwide from January 14th to 22nd. “There should be no litter around any of our temples or pilgrimage sites when lord Ram arrives,” he declared, underscoring the need for spiritual devotion to translate into tangible action.

He then proposed a unique way for all Indians to be part of the historic moment for Ram Temple.

“Light the Shri Ram Jyoti on the day of the consecration,” he suggested, advocating for lighting earthen lamps throughout the country. “This historical moment has very fortunately come into the lives of all of us. We have to take a new resolution for the country and fill it with new energy,” he stated, igniting a sense of collective purpose.

But Modi’s visit was not merely about pronouncements. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 46 projects worth a staggering ₹15,700 crore, showcasing the government’s commitment to Ayodhya’s transformation. These included the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, the revamped Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station, and six new Vande Bharat trains, connecting the city to various corners of the country.

He also flagged off two Amrit Bharat trains, symbolizing the government’s focus on connecting smaller towns and pilgrimage sites. He interacted with children and railway employees at the new station, his warmth and accessibility further endearing him to the crowd.

The other major projects included the capacity upgrade of Amethi Refinery, doubling of key railway sections, and construction of several new pathways like Ram Path, Bhakti Path, and Dharma Path, aimed at enhancing spiritual experience and accessibility within the city.

On his way back to the airport, Modi stopped at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk, where a 40-foot, 14-ton veena had been installed as a tribute to the legendary singer. This seemingly small gesture showcased his attention to detail and appreciation for India’s rich cultural heritage.

Back at the public gathering, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath echoed Modi’s sentiments, describing the upcoming consecration as a culmination of a 550-year wait for Ram Temple. He expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s dedication to both Uttar Pradesh and Ayodhya, highlighting the positive transformations witnessed under his leadership.
